Byrider recently opened a new location in Jacksonville, North Carolina, offering drivers more ways to own and finance a quality used vehicle with a trusted, locally operated Buy Here Pay Here business. The new location marks Byrider’s third dealership in North Carolina, as we continue our expansion across the state with experienced franchise operators.
Christopher Thomas, TJ Swigart and Darcy Roessler lead the new Jacksonville dealership, leveraging their impressive backgrounds in automotive sales and operational experience as existing Byrider owners. Thomas and Swigart first joined the Byrider family in 2009 before continuing to expand their operations across North Carolina. Roessler later joined the ownership group in 2015, helping strengthen the team’s operational experience and long-term growth in the state.
Today, the group operates Byrider dealerships in Raleigh and Jacksonville in addition to other automotive businesses throughout the region. Their latest opening reflects both continued confidence in the Byrider model and a growing need for flexible vehicle financing options throughout eastern North Carolina.

Bringing More Buy Here Pay Here Options to Jacksonville Drivers
For many customers, purchasing a vehicle involves more than finding the right inventory. Financing availability, affordability and long-term reliability all shape the decision-making process, especially for drivers navigating previous financial challenges or limited credit history.
That is where Byrider differs from many traditional used car dealerships. As a Buy Here Pay Here option, Byrider combines vehicle sales, in-house car financing and on-site service support within one location. Instead of sending customers to outside lenders, our dealerships provide financing directly through the business, allowing our teams to support customers closely throughout the ownership process.
“Our customers don’t always have access to the same financial resources as others, which is why we’re proud to bring a new path forward to the Jacksonville community,” Thomas said. “We believe in the Byrider model and the opportunity it creates to support customers along their financial journey.”
Meeting the Demand for Quality Used Vehicles & Financing Across North Carolina
Thomas, Swigart and Roessler have built years of experience working directly within Byrider dealerships before opening another location. This familiarity gave the ownership group firsthand knowledge of how Byrider’s financing, service and customer support systems operate together over time. Unlike many traditional used car dealerships that focus primarily on vehicle transactions, Byrider creates ongoing interaction with customers throughout multiple stages of ownership.
“Darcy, Chris and TJ are proven operators with Byrider and we’re lucky to have them on our team, leading our entry into Jacksonville,” said Mike Onda, CEO of Byrider. “They share our commitment to providing an affordable path to car ownership.”
For drivers across eastern North Carolina, the Jacksonville opening expands access to used cars and in-house financing options with an ownership group already within the community. As Thomas, Swigart and Roessler continue to grow their Byrider business, Jacksonville represents another step in bringing Byrider’s financing and vehicle ownership model to more drivers throughout the region.
