A new Byrider franchise store opened Aug. 5 in Lubbock, TX. The new buy-here-pay-here used car dealership is located at 1211 19th Street. This marks Byrider’s first dealership in Lubbock and will be owned and operated by DP Auto Sales, Ltd., and DPAC Acceptance, Ltd. This is the ownership group’s fourth Byrider dealership. In addition to Lubbock, they operate three locations in and around San Antonio.
The dealership is strategically situated downtown and is visible from Interstate 27. The franchise group updated the iconic Womble Oldsmobile downtown building, which is also known for hosting a Buddy Holly concert on its balcony in the 1950s. The balcony, and original pylon sign on the building, are still intact and will be a visually attractive feature of the new dealership. DP Auto Sales worked with a local contractor, CYZ Construction, to complete the improvements to the classic building.
Byrider Lubbock features over 13,000 square feet for sales, service, and finance and a parking lot that can display up to 70 cars for sale. Additionally, the new location offers low-cost maintenance to Byrider customers, notably $20 oil changes. The facility’s state-of-the-art service department is equipped to service up to seven vehicles at a time. The service area features nearly $70,000 of new shop equipment. The new location plans to employ eight associates to start with plans to add more within the year.
